What comes after a late weekend snooze…? Brunch of course! We discovered a new great place in La Jolla downtown called the The Med that serves up really delicious Californian Mediterranean style dishes. The restaurant is located on a terrace in the La Valencia Hotel that over looks beautiful La Jolla Shores. You can’t miss the place because the hotel is the only “pink” Spanish style building on the street.

We ordered up their local favorite Chorizo Eggs Benedict and Blue Crab Omelet with Creme Fraiche. The Chorizo Eggs Benedict was served on an English muffin topped with a poached egg and chipotle hollandaise sauce which sat on a bed of breakfast potatoes with deliciously fried pieces of spicy chorizo sausage. YUM!

The Blue Crab Omelet with Creme Fraiche was equally as delectable! The omelet was large and plump stuffed with chunks of crab meat and drizzled with a bit of creme fraiche sauce and salmon caviar. Served with a side of salad and simple roasted potatoes makes this a light satisfying dish.
For dessert we wrapped things up with their special Cheese Plate and Chocolate Croissant Fruit Platter. It can’t be simpler pairing delicious Parmesan and Brie cheese with fresh honeycomb and berries, I love the sweet, salty, and creamy combination of cheese and fruit! The chocolate croissants were light and flaky filled with dark semisweet chocolate…crispy, buttery, and scrumptious.
Another really great place to kick back relax and soak up the sun, beachfront view, and delicious brunch!

Delish!
